How has race been a part of your life?

Growing up Hispanic has not been the easiest, we are labeled as immigrants, the ones taking other people’s jobs. We have our president attempting to build a wall, walking into a store there are occasions that we cannot speak the language from where we are from regardless of knowing English.

How were you impacted by these experiences?

My father had his own business and he would encounter customers that would approach him differently because of his ethnicity, doubting him having a license as well as knowing how to do his job or even if he was an American citizen.
